Up to a 30% reduction on post secondary tuition in Ontario

For those of you with post secondary age children this is for your. The government has introduced up to a 30% reduction on post secondary education. Ontario government announces 30% Tuition Grant for undergrads.

The application deadline for the semester started January 2012 is March 31, 2012.

Recently , the Ontario government announced a tuition grant for full-time undergraduate students at Ontario's universities and colleges, whose family income is $160,000 or less. The grant is available to a student who:

• is a full-time student at a public college or university in Ontario,

• is registered in a program applied directly from high school,

• is a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident or a protected person residing in Ontario

• is a high school graduate within the past 4 years

In order to qualify, the 2010 combined income of the parents of the student must be $160,000 or less.

Students receiving OSAP will automatically be considered for the grant. Students not receiving OSAP need to apply for the grant before March 31 to be eligible for the Winter 2012 semester payment.
